wake up game
I was very inspired by [[https://gandalf.lakera.ai][gandalf]] and thought people can make more natural langage based games. Long time ago we used to do state machines in Alexas but it just wasn't fluent enough.
I had this idea of having a game where you inject words into someones dream which adjusts how their day goes. I made a prototype with gpt 4 ages ago, which fell apart quickly, But now I could one shot the app itself using claude and by leveraging sonnet 4 I could make a cohesive experience.
The concept is:
- We watch a guy/gal live his daily life and see his inner thought.
- Every night we can inject words into his dream that change what he things.
- However, when they are dormant, the dreams don't reach him intact, they are garbled. You can find glitches to progress their awakening.
- The goal is for them to escape the matrix
- The matrix tracks you and fights back to keep them inside
Incredibly, by sharing the claude artifact, people can load the game and use their own sonnet 4 as backend, costing me nothing. That is insane value proposition and I imagine a world when we connect with our Anthropic accounts to power any apps (which are just a frontend and prompt).
Here is the [[https://claude.ai/public/artifacts/57dc3bfd-0e3b-4bfb-8142-b083631619f5][game]] for you to try in Claude! I have provided an api-key version for personal use as well. Download it, do what ever you want with it. It has a different playthrough every time and it picks on your writing style a lot. From a game perspective, it tracks several metrics including quality of your dream prompts and how much pressure you are putting in the character. I was amazed by how .. loose it is, but the system works really well because sonnet can fill in the blanks. I felt these kind of (short enough) narrative experiences should be explored more.
